Denosumab Produces Promising Results Against Giant Cell Tumor of the Bone (06/05/2009)
In a Phase II clinical trial, 86% of patients with giant cell tumor of the bone responded to treatment with the investigational targeted therapy denosumab. These results were presented at the 2009 annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Denosumab Reduces the Risk of Bone Fractures (09/17/2008)
According to the results of a Phase III clinical trial, treatment with denosumab significantly reduces the risk of vertebral and hip fractures among postmenopausal women with osteoporosis. These results were presented at the 2008 meeting of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR).

Shortened Interval Between Chemotherapy Cycles Does Not Improve Survival with Osteosarcoma (01/23/2007)
According to the results of a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, osteosarcoma patients treated with the chemotherapy drugs cisplatin and doxorubicin every two weeks did not have better survival than patients who received the same drugs every three weeks.

Heart Dysfunction Continues Long After Treatment with Adriamycin® (07/21/2006)
According to results published in the Annals of Oncology, childhood cancer survivors with bone cancer who were treated with Adriamycin® (doxorubicin) demonstrated declining heart function at 22 years following treatment.

Chemotherapy Combination Produces Promising Results in Ewing’s Sarcoma (04/05/2006)
Among patients with high-risk Ewing’s sarcoma family of tumors (ESFT), treatment with an intensified chemotherapy regimen of ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide (ICE) plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and vincristine (CAV), resulted in good control of disease and made it easier to perform surgery. These results were published in the journal Cancer.
